When Only The Best Will Do
By Mike Marchev
I am coming fresh off a hospital family type emergency,
sort of, kind of.
All is well at the Marchev household, but I was not sure I
could say that a few weeks ago. The good news is that my
mother in law is alive, well and still with us. That means
more of the world's best chocolate cakes, among other things.
But I digress.
While doing hospital duty, a very interesting thing
happened before my eyes which made me think of you, my
readers. The family had to decide where to move my
mother in law in order for her to receive a double whammy,
heart valve replacement/fix gizmo.
As I am the"in law" in this scenario, I had to step back
and watch as my wife's family did their due diligence. Here is
what I heard loud and clear. "Who is the best? Where is the
best hospital?"
How apropos. Who is the best and where is the best? Not
once did money, or convenience enter the equation. When
something is important to a person, they only care about a
very few things. 1) Who performs this service better than
anybody else, and 2) How fast can we get there?
I'll spare you the rhetoric from this point on. All I will
say, and this will come in the gentle form of a reminder, that
it is in your best interest to be the best at what you do.
Then, and only then, will you have people beating down your
doors with little or no concern of "how much."
