Can you find the home of the "Deep Dish" Pizza?
In the 1940s, Ric Riccardo and Ike Sewell at the Pizzeria Uno developed deep-dish pizza, aka Chicago-style pizza. This kind of pizza differs from the traditional hearth-cake mold and is more like a casserole.

It's All About Groups!
October 12, 2007
|
|
|
|
It's the first InSite of October and in
preparation for the holidays looming along
the horizon, we're bringing you a special
company feature on Macy's.
Chicago natives have had some mixed
feelings about the New York chain taking over
a certain flagship store on Chicago's State
Street that will remain nameless. At the
heart of it, the big fuss circled around
whether the new guys in town would continue
the holiday traditions us Chicagoans have
grown up loving.
But, true to their promise, the NYC giant
has done a beautiful job of upholding those
great traditions in a stylish way that only
Macy's could do.
Click below to read about the grand
anniversary celebrations they have planned
and, in the meantime, I hope you enjoy the
latest edition of InSite!

Oregon's Bounty
By Elana Andersen
When Lewis' and Clark's Corps of Discovery
entered Oregon and sailed west on the mighty
Columbia River, they were awed by the sights,
thriving population, abundance of resources
and diversity of its landscape.
Even today, visitors continue to be enamored
of these same impressions and are energized
to seek and discover what lies around the
next corner. It doesn't take long to learn
that Oregonians are a lively bunch who blend
a philosophy of respect for their forbearers
and celebration for today's good life, the
state's bountiful landscape and a healthy
dose of whimsy.

Destination "Demand Generators" Require Partnerships, Not Agendas
- Synergy
- Touch Points
- Leadership
- Engagement
- Accountability
- Visitor Delight
"Demand Generators." What a wonderful phrase,
coined by Jonathan Tisch, Chairman and CEO of
Loewes Hotels. He was referring to what
drives Visitors to our Destinations, in this
case New York City, but applicable anywhere.
During a television interview with Charlie
Rose, resplendent commentator, Mr.
Tisch was the essential insightful
interviewee, discussing his new book, family
members, hotel successes, various charities
and the like, but the phrase, "Demand
Generators" resonated with this viewer.
